Jenny Knight ~ English Democrats prospective candidate for Avon & Somerset Police Commissioner
Jenny Knight, the English Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for the Bath Constituency earlier this month, is the latest of our activists to put her name forward as a prospective candidate in next year’s Police Commissioner elections.
As the English Democrats prospective candidate for election as Avon & Somerset Police Commissioner, Jenny has joined other English Democrats prospective Police Commissioner candidates. These include the following:
Jenny Knight ~ Bath
Stephen Goldspink ~ Cambridgeshire
Robin Tilbrook ~ Essex
Charles Vickers ~ Hertfordshire
Steve Uncles ~ Kent
Oliver Healey ~ Leicestershire
Paul Rimmer ~ Merseyside
Derek Hilling ~ Northampton
Steve Morris ~ Greater Manchester
Alan England ~ North Yorkshire
Dave Allen ~ South Yorkshire.
Therese Hirst ~ West Yorkshire
The English Democrats are particularly concerned about the sexual abuse of children in England’s cities and, with Dave Allen, we have a well established candidate campaigning on this issue in South Yorkshire. Back in 2012 he drew attention to this scandal and challenged the suitability of the Labour candidate for this position. Subsequently, that candidate (who had been elected), Shaun Wright, was constrained to resign after much shameful shilly-shallying.
The Party’s focus remains firmly on this continuing problem, amongst others. One school of thought concerns widespread misogynism in the police service having paved the way for the complaints of physical and other abuse by girls having been so arbitrarily dismissed by frontline personnel.
To be continued . . .
