65% of English people want an English Parliament
English Votes on English Laws (EVEL) is a sham and all too typical of the fourth-rate scams employed by British politicians to deprive the people of England of their dues! It has been devised to delude us into believing that only (undefined) ‘English votes’ will determine English laws.

As I posted here on this blog on 22 September last: Why should anyone conscious of his or her national identity, least of all a patriot, seek election to represent electors of another nation in the British Parliament? There are too many voters in England who have not considered this question, who have been misled by references to “English MPs” and thus induced to assume that their MP is loyal to them and England, when this is not the case!
Indeed, if they are unaware that Britain is NOT a nation, but a state (albeit it one comprising three nations), such candidates would appear to be unqualified for high public office! If they are aware of this situation, it seems not unreasonable to question their motives, and I do!
It might seem tolerable at constituency level for a MP to appear to have a national identity which is other than English, but MPs are called upon to take positions on matters at national [international?] level. In this latter situation, why should electors in England assume or otherwise take on trust that non-English MPs will put the interests of England and their constituents first, before the interests of the other nation? Indeed, there is ample evidence that MPs who do not identify themselves as having English national identity subordinate England’s interests to other nations and have no allegiance to England. Often they condemn English nationalism as being ‘racist’ whilst supporting the so called ‘British nation‘!
Finally, (and here’s the clincher!) as proposed, EVEL in the Commons will not limit English laws to being determined solely by English votes of whatever kind, quite simply because only England’s domestic law is subject to review and revision in the Lords where all peers, regardless of affiliation, can continue to vote on it. Indeed, very many peers are not from England. So much for the ‘English only’ votes implied by the Conservatives’ con . . . anything to avoid treating England equitably and fairly!
How much longer will the British Parliament try to suppress English national identity?
