It has frequently been asserted to justify the EU’s existence and machinations that the EU has ‘prevented’ war in Europe! If this claim is not an indirect admission which amounts to no more than tacit approval of illegal international actions or abject surrender, let them and their cronies step up to the plate and demonstrate the validity of this claim, if there is one.
Presently, it looks like the international markets are more likely to inflict damage on Mr Putin’s interference in Ukraine’s affairs. After all, who wants to rely upon unreliable gas and other supplies from Russia? Who wants the Russian rouble now? Who wants shares in Russian companies which might be seized at any moment by Putin?
Putin has now accumulated considerable form! Who doubts that he was behind the assassination of Alexander Litvinenko by radioactive poisoning. Who has forgotten the incursion of Georgia in 2008, or the ruthless military oppression of Chechnya.
Vladimir Putin is an established enemy of the West and should be treated as such, especially by the EU, assuming that it really has a role here.
